One day, a man was walking down the street and saw one house on which there was a sign saying, Talk”. So he knocked on the door, and an old man opened it.
“Is it true that you have a talking dog?” asked the man.
“It’s true,” said the old man, pointing to the backyard.
So the man walked to the backyard, where a dog sat.
“Can you really talk?” he asked the dog.
“Yeah,” the dog replied. “I can talk; I just don’t like to boast about it”
So the man was astonished and full of wonder. “So, what have you done in your life?”
The dog glanced above itself, deep in thought, and said, “Well… I have saved lives, helped people, and I have even prevented a robbery. I was in the army for a while too.”
The man was completely disconcerted.Incredulous, he exclaimed, “This dog is fantastic! How much do you want for him?”
“Ten bucks,” answered the old man.
“Ten bucks?! Why so cheap?” asked the man.
“Because he’s a liar,” said the old man. “He never did any of those things!”
